in August 2010!
Mogworld is the culmination of a
few years' work from an idea that took root back
when I was playing World of Warcraft. It's NOT a
graphic novel, as you might assume from Dark
Horse publishing it. It's a proper wordy thinky
brainy book. I feel that if I give myself free
reign to go on about it here I'll end up calling
it a lot of pretentious things that it isn't, so
at the most basic level it's a fun little comedic
fantasy. But it's also a bit of a satire on MMOs,
the games industry, and the concept of heroism,
and incorporates perhaps a hint of existentialism
WHOOPS there I go.
Novels That Haven't Been Picked Up For Publishing
And Therefore Weren't As Good
Fog Juice - my 2005 National Novel
Writing Month entry. It's about as poorly edited
as you'd expect a 50,000 word novel written in
twenty days to be, but you can read it in its
entirety by clicking these words.
Jim: A Search For Something - The first
novel-length work of fiction I ever finished.
Very old and probably a little unrepresentative
of my current writing style, but here it is
anyway. A stirring tale of pirates and airships
and shit like that.
